Overview

Palais is a 130 m² apartment entirely on the ground floor of Forckestraße 17. Two bedrooms have a large double bed each, and the third, with a bunk bed, has its own bathroom. With the sofa bed in the living room, up to eight people can stay.

Exposed timber framing divides the living and dining areas, a hanging chair sits in the bay window, and an electric fireplace stands in a wall niche. One bedroom has a sauna cabin, and the bathroom has a corner bath. You also get underfloor heating, pleated blinds on every window and roller blinds in the bedrooms.

The kitchen has an oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. For rainy days there are board games, a PlayStation 5 and Netflix on the flat-screen TV. The house has a garden with a seating area, and the town centre is only a few minutes away.

The house: Forckestraße 17

Forckestraße 17 has four holiday apartments from the ground floor up to the second floor, ranging from 55 to 130 m² and sleeping up to four, six or eight guests. The house has a garden with a lawn, a seating set and a bench, and an old photo shows it was already a holiday home about 100 years ago.

The town centre is about two minutes away, and shops, restaurants and pubs are a short walk. Wernigerode Castle is around 20 minutes on foot or 8 minutes by car. Schierke, where several hiking trails up the Brocken begin, is about a 20-minute drive.

Parking: Free parking in the signposted public side street “Auf der Marsch” right next to the house, no reservation needed. There is also bicycle parking at the house.
